What We Collect

When you ask for a quote on this website

Your name, phone number, postcode, vehicle registration and the service you need. We also record the page you sent the form from and the time you ticked the consent box.

To stop spam, the form also keeps a scrambled copy of your IP address for 10 minutes, so it can limit how many requests come from one connection. It is not saved with your request.

When you call, text, WhatsApp or email us

Whatever you choose to tell us, such as your address for the job, details of the damage and any photos you send. Messages and photos sent on WhatsApp are also handled by WhatsApp, which is owned by Meta, under its own privacy policy.

When you visit the website

Our web host keeps standard server logs, which include your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. These are used for security and to keep the site running.

Google Ads tags on our pages send Google limited information about every visit, as soon as each page opens, whether or not you accept cookies. If you choose "Accept all", Google Analytics and Google Ads also use cookies to collect information about your visit, such as the pages you view, the type of device and browser you use, and whether you came from one of our adverts. See Cookies below.

How We Use It

  • To reply to your enquiry and give you a price.
  • To identify the correct glass for your vehicle. Your registration may be shared with our glass suppliers for this purpose only.
  • To book and carry out the job, take payment and issue invoices.
  • To honour our 7 year workmanship warranty.
  • To protect the website from spam and misuse.
  • To measure which of our Google adverts lead to enquiries (see Cookies).
  • To ask for a review. After a job, we may send you one text or WhatsApp message asking you to leave a review on Google. If you would rather we did not, just tell us and we will not ask again.

We do not use your details for marketing, and we never sell or rent them to anyone.

Our Lawful Basis

  • Taking steps at your request before a contract and performing a contract: quoting for and carrying out your job.
  • Legitimate interests: keeping job records, handling warranty claims, keeping the site secure, asking you once for a review, and knowing whether our advertising works (the Google Ads measurement without cookies described under Cookies).
  • Legal obligation: keeping financial records for HMRC.
  • Consent: Google's cookies, Google Analytics and the embedded Google Map. You can withdraw consent at any time.

Who We Share It With

Only the people who help us do the job: glass suppliers (registration only), our website host, email provider and phone and messaging services, and our accountant. Each of them must keep your information secure and use it only for the service they provide to us.

Google receives limited information about every visit through Google Ads, and more through Google Analytics and Google's cookies if you choose "Accept all", as described under Cookies. Google handles it under its own terms and privacy policy, and may process it outside the UK.

How Long We Keep It

  • Quote requests that do not lead to a job are deleted automatically after 12 months.
  • Records of completed jobs and invoices are kept for 7 years, which covers our warranty period and HMRC record keeping rules.
  • Google Analytics keeps information about visits for 14 months.

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We keep them to a minimum.

Google Ads measurement on every visit

Our pages load Google Ads tags (conversion tracking and the conversion linker) as soon as each page opens, before you make a choice in the cookie banner. Until you choose "Accept all", they set and read no Google cookies. They still send Google limited information about your visit:

  • the address of the page and the time
  • your browser and device type
  • your IP address, which every web request carries
  • whether you tapped or clicked to call us or to message us on WhatsApp, or sent a quote request
  • if you came from one of our Google adverts, the ad click identifier, a code Google adds to the page address when someone clicks an advert

This carries on if you choose "Essential only". When cookies are not allowed, Google's tag can add the ad click identifier to the addresses of links within this site, so an enquiry on a later page can still be linked to the advert.

We use this to measure which of our Google adverts lead to enquiries. Google also uses it to estimate enquiries it cannot measure directly. It is not used for personalised advertising or remarketing. Google explains how it uses this information on its page How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

Our lawful basis for this is legitimate interests: knowing whether our advertising works. You have the right to object. These tags run in your own browser, so we cannot switch them off for one visitor from our side. To stop them, use your browser's privacy settings or a content blocker. If you have any questions about this, contact us using the details under Who We Are.

Essential cookies

  • pw_consent: remembers if you accepted or declined optional cookies. It lasts 6 months.
  • WordPress login cookies are only set for our own staff when they log in to manage the site.

Optional cookies

  • Google Analytics: shows us how many people visit, which pages they view and how they found us, so we can improve the site. It loads only if you choose "Accept all". Google sets its own cookies, with names starting _ga, which last up to 2 years. Google signals, which links visits to people signed in to their Google accounts, is switched off.
  • Google Ads: if you choose "Accept all", the Google Ads tags described above also set and read cookies, which tell us when a visit from one of our adverts on Google leads to a call, a WhatsApp message or a quote request, so we know which adverts work. Google sets its own cookies, with names starting _gcl, which last 90 days. We do not use them to show you adverts on other websites.
  • Google Maps: the map on our contact page is provided by Google, which may set its own cookies when the map loads. We only load it if you choose "Accept all" or press the button to show the map. See how Google uses cookies.

Our pages load the Google Ads and Google Analytics tags through Google Tag Manager, which loads on every page. It sets no cookies of its own.

You can change your choice at any time using , or by clearing cookies in your browser.

Your Rights

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you

To use any of these rights, email or call us using the details above. We will reply within one month.
